BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been admitted to United Hospital in Dhaka after falling ill on Tuesday night (19 August).
According to BNP’s media cell, he was admitted around 1 am following sudden illness after returning home from Thailand, where he had undergone eye treatment.
BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan informed that Mirza Fakhrul landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the evening and later attended a meeting in Gulshan until 11 pm. Shortly afterward, he began feeling unwell and was taken to United Hospital at night.
Party leaders and activists have expressed concern over his health, while hospital sources are yet to provide further details about his condition.
