Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has officially invited Prime Minister Tariq Rahman to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The letter of invitation was delivered to Prime Minister Tariq Rahman by the Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr. Abdullah Jafer H. Bin Abiyah, during a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat on Monday, according to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing.
The invitation marks a significant step toward further strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. Beyond their historical foundations in religious ties and people-to-people connections, cooperation between the two nations has expanded in recent years to encompass trade, investment, energy, and manpower.
Saudi Arabia remains one of Bangladesh’s primary labor markets, with remittance flows from Bangladeshi expatriates serving as a vital pillar of the nation’s economy. The Kingdom also represents the primary destination for Bangladeshi pilgrims performing Hajj.
Formal diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1975, evolving from traditional economic and labor partnerships into a multifaceted strategic alliance.
