A 19-member committee has been formed to address the long-standing waterlogging problem in Chattogram city, with the Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation appointed as its head, according to an official notification.
The committee includes representatives from various government departments and agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to resolving the city’s waterlogging issues.
Officials said the committee is expected to play a key role in reducing public suffering, particularly with the monsoon season approaching, by taking swift and practical measures.
Following the issuance of the notification, concerned stakeholders expressed their appreciation to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam for initiating the move.
