Students from Dhaka Residential Model College and several other educational institutions visited the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) today as part of an educational initiative aimed at enhancing their understanding of governance and lawmaking.
During the visit, the students took their seats in the oath room of the Parliament building, where they were given a brief presentation on the architectural design of the parliament and the legislative process.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to inspire patriotism among students and provide them with practical knowledge about how laws are formulated in the country. In this regard, Education Minister A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon has submitted a proposal to the Speaker, requesting the allocation of 150 seats in parliament, including 50 reserved for children.
Officials said that, as part of this ongoing program, students are regularly visiting the parliament to gain firsthand experience.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, through the Education Minister, invited students from his alma mater, Dhaka Residential Model College, to the parliament. He later exchanged greetings with the students and teachers and took photographs with them.
The visit reflects the government’s efforts to engage young citizens in democratic practices and deepen their understanding of the country’s legislative system.
