The main accused in the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi—Faisal Masud Karim and Alamgir Sheikh—have been produced before the Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Court in West Bengal, India. They were presented in court on Sunday following the completion of a 14-day remand.
Earlier, while speaking to journalists outside the court, Faisal Karim claimed that he was not involved in Hadi’s murder and alleged that he was being framed. However, the Special Task Force of the West Bengal Police had previously stated that both Faisal and Alamgir confessed to their involvement in the killing after their arrest.
Faisal Karim and Alamgir Sheikh were arrested on March 7 and 8 this year from Bangaon in West Bengal. Subsequently, the court granted a 14-day remand for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a West Bengal court on Saturday ordered a 14-day judicial custody for an individual named Philip Sangma on charges of illegal entry into India in connection with the same case.
It is noteworthy that on December 12, 2025, Hadi was shot by assailants while riding a motorcycle in the Paltan area of the capital. He later died on December 18 while undergoing treatment in Singapore.
