Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, which were suspended due to severe flooding, will resume on July 27, Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon announced on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka, the minister said the postponed examinations for students under the Chattogram Education Board would restart as flood conditions improve.
“The suspended HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Education Board covering five districts will resume on July 27. A revised schedule for the postponed exams will be announced after the previously scheduled examinations are completed,” the minister said.
He also said that science students who were unable to sit for the Physics examination due to the natural disaster would be given another opportunity to take the test.
Students eligible for the special examination have been instructed to register with the relevant education board.
The 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Board were suspended until further notice after widespread flooding disrupted normal life across several districts.
Education authorities said the decision was taken after considering the overall flood situation, the physical and mental well-being of examinees, and transportation difficulties caused by damaged roads, which made it difficult for students to reach examination centres.
The Chattogram Education Board oversees examinations in five districts: Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban.
