Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that BNP has started implementing all its promises consistently, even before the election ink is washed off its nails after forming the government on the people’s verdict. He made the remarks after inaugurating the program to honour imams and muezzins on Saturday (March 14).
Tarique Rahman said, “Today, in this exceptional event, you have gathered some people whom people respect without any obligation, from whom they hope for good advice in difficult moments of life.”
The Prime Minister said, “Religious figures like Imam-Khatib-Muazzin are present at this event. Religious leaders of Hindu-Buddhist-Christian religions are also present. Priests, volunteers, and vihar principals and vice principals are also present. You already know the purpose for which we have gathered here today.”
He further said, “We will all live well together by eliminating financial inequality through financial assistance or employment creation for people from different classes of society who are economically backward. We made that promise to the people before the national election.”
The BNP chairman said, “After the BNP formed the government on the verdict of the people, we have started implementing all our promises consistently even before the ink of the vote is wiped off our nails.”
Tarique Rahman said, “We have already launched the ‘Family Card’ for economically backward women. This card will be available to everyone across the country in phases. The ‘Farmer’s Card’ or ‘Krishak Card’ is being launched on April 14, i.e., Poyala Baishakh. The canal-digging program is starting from Dinajpur on March 16. The financial assistance program for Khatibs, Imams, Muazzins, and religious leaders of other religions has been launched from today.”
He said, “This assistance will be provided to everyone in need across the country in phases. By ensuring the political and economic empowerment of every citizen of the country, we want to establish our country on such a strong foundation that no more fascism or the evil forces of subjugation can take away people’s freedom.”
