The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare, Labour and Employment has launched a hotline to help Bangladeshi expatriates whose visas have expired due to flight cancellations caused by the war in Iran, said Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury.
The minister announced on Saturday morning at a Holi festival organized by the Academy for Manipuri Culture and Arts in Mirzajangal, Sylhet.
“Those whose visas have expired can contact the ministry, and the government will assist them as much as possible. The government is committed to resolving these issues for expatriates,” he said.
Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury also addressed casualties in the Middle East, stating that the ministry immediately informs the respective governments when any Bangladeshi expatriates die due to the ongoing conflict.
“Our ministry continuously monitors the situation, and the Prime Minister is being kept updated at all times,” he added.
Speaking about the festival, the minister noted that Holi is a Manipuri celebration and pledged that the government will take effective steps to address various issues faced by the Manipuri community.
