Netrokona-4: Lutfuzzaman Babar Wins by Landslide

BNP-nominated candidate Lutfuzzaman Babar, contesting with the paddy sheaf symbol, has secured a sweeping victory in the Netrokona-4 (Madan-Mohanganj-Khaliajuri) constituency.

The result was confirmed on Thursday (February 12) following the announcement of vote counts in the evening. According to polling agent data from various centres, Babar was unofficially declared the winner with a margin of 121,042 votes over his nearest rival.

Babar received 160,351 votes, while his closest competitor, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Al Helal Talukdar, who contested with the scales symbol, secured 39,309 votes.

In his immediate reaction, Babar described the outcome as “a victory for the people.” He pledged to work toward the development of the area, strengthening infrastructure, and fulfilling public expectations. He also expressed gratitude to voters and all those involved for ensuring a peaceful election.

Following the announcement, BNP leaders and activists celebrated across Madan, Mohanganj, and Khaliajuri, holding victory processions and distributing sweets. However, the official final results are still awaited.
