At least 34 people have been killed and dozens wounded in Israeli air and drone strikes across Lebanon since early Wednesday, local media reported, amid heightened regional tensions.
The Lebanese state news agency NNA reported that Israeli warplanes struck a house in the town of Tamein el-Tahta in the Baalbek area of eastern Lebanon, killing 10 members of a Syrian family and wounding five others.
An Israeli drone strike killed one person on Mahmoud Fakih Street in the southern Lebanese town of Nabatieh. Three others were killed in a drone strike targeting a car in the Saf al-Hawa area of Bint Jbeil in the same district.
In addition, three people, including a paramedic, were killed in an Israeli attack in the town of Hanouyeh in the Tyre district, the NNA said. An attack in the West Bekaa region of eastern Lebanon killed one person and wounded two others. Meanwhile, a bomb attack in the Al-Haoush area of the Tyre district killed one person and wounded eight others.
The organization said five people were killed and five others were wounded in an Israeli airstrike in the town of Qana in the same district. Three young men were killed in an attack on a house in the Sharqiya area. Another airstrike in the town of Kafar Tabnit killed a paramedic.
Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar TV reported that six people were killed and seven others were wounded in an Israeli strike in the Chehabiyeh area of Tyre.
Meanwhile, Israeli aircraft also carried out an airstrike on a residential apartment in the Aicha Bakkar area of the capital Beirut. However, the number of casualties in that attack could not be immediately confirmed.
The Lebanese Health Ministry said four people were injured in another attack in the southern Lebanese town of Tebnain.
The report said that more than 570 people have been killed and thousands displaced in Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon since March 2 amid the conflict.
Regional tensions rose further after the United States and Israel jointly launched attacks on Iran, which reportedly killed more than 1,200 people, including the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and injured more than 10,000.
In response, Iran launched drone and missile attacks on Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries with US military bases.
