Allegations of extortion have been raised against a Jubo Dal leader in connection with a private hospital in Shyamoli, Dhaka. Following the incident, senior Jubo Dal leaders visited the hospital on Friday night, assuring strict action against those involved, according to the BNP Media Cell.
Earlier, allegations surfaced against Md. Moin Uddin Moin, a Jubo Dal leader, over extortion attempts at the Centre for Kidney Diseases and Urology (CKDU)—a hospital led by renowned physician Dr. Kamrul Islam, known for performing around 2,000 kidney transplants without fees.
After the news was published in media, a delegation led by Jubo Dal President Abdus Munaem Munna and General Secretary Nurul Islam Noyon visited CKDU at around 1:30 AM on Friday night and met Dr. Kamrul Islam.
The delegation assured that strict organizational action would be taken against Moin Uddin Moin and others involved in the alleged extortion network. They also said that law enforcement agencies are working to arrest the perpetrators as quickly as possible.
Dr. Kamrul Islam thanked the central Jubo Dal leaders for their visit and response.
