The High Court has granted bail to Tamanna Jasmin Riva, president of the Eden College unit of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL). The decision was issued by a bench comprising Justice Md. Atowar Rahman and Justice Md. Sagir Hossain, which approved her bail and issued the rule. The Deputy Attorney General Badiuzzaman Tafadar represented the state during the hearing.
Tamanna Jasmin Riva was detained by the Detective Branch (DB) on December 16, 2024, over allegations of conducting political activities. Prior to her arrest, she had gone into hiding following the student movement in July and remained out of public sight for an extended period.
After her arrest on the night of December 16, she faced ongoing legal proceedings, and today, as part of this process, the High Court granted her bail.
