National Citizens’ Party (NCP) spokesperson Asif Mahmud has stated that the 11-party alliance will not take any oaths if the BNP refuses to take the oath of the Constitution Reform Council. Posting on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday, he said,
“According to the law, if BNP does not take the oath of the Constitution Reform Council, none of the 11-party alliance will take any oath.”
Earlier, Asif Mahmud noted in another post that the new parliament’s journey began with a strong message from the public on the referendum day.
On Tuesday (February 17), at 10:45 am, BNP-winning candidates took their oaths at the oath room of the National Parliament. The oath was administered by Chief Election Commissioner A. M. M. Nasir Uddin, while Kaniz Mowla, Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat, oversaw the ceremony.
