Salahuddin Ahmad Leads in Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chokoria-Pekua) Constituency

BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmad is leading in the Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chokoria-Pekua) constituency based on early results from polling centres.

According to data from the centres, out of a total of 177 polling stations, preliminary results from 74 centres show that Salahuddin Ahmad, contesting with the “Paddy Sheaf” symbol, has received 102,119 votes. His nearest rival, Abdullah Al Faruq of Jamaat-e-Islami, contesting with the “Scales” symbol, has received 45,073 votes.

The Cox’s Bazar-1 constituency comprises the Chokoria and Pekua upazilas. The constituency has a total of 540,468 registered voters, including 290,275 male voters and 250,192 female voters.
