The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned all relevant documents to verify the legitimacy of 832 bhori of gold recovered from a locker of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Agrani Bank.
According to ACC sources, a formal letter has been sent to the managing director of Agrani Bank in this regard on Monday (May 4).
The commission has instructed the bank to submit all records related to the locker, including details of locker in-charges and branch managers from 1990 to 2008.
ACC Investigation Update
The ACC stated that it is currently verifying all information and evidence as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged undisclosed assets of Sheikh Hasina.
“All types of information and evidence are being thoroughly examined
in connection with the investigation of illegal assets,”
the commission said.
Gold Recovery Details
Earlier, in November 2025, authorities recovered 832 bhori of gold from the bank locker.
According to the ACC, documents found in the locker also included the names of Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, and her daughter.
Allegation of Asset Concealment
The ACC further claimed that Sheikh Hasina allegedly concealed over 2.03 crore BDT worth of assets in her 2008 election affidavit.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing, the commission added.
