Mrs. Dilara Hafiz, wife of National Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikrom, has passed away. She died while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un) at the age of 78.
The news was confirmed by Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP’s media cell. He stated that Mrs. Dilara Hafiz passed away at 1:30 PM Singapore time on Saturday, 28 March. Her body is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on Sunday, 29 March.
The funeral prayer (Janaza) will be held on 30 March at 11:00 AM at the South Plaza of the National Parliament, followed by a prayer at the Central Mosque of the Army Cantonment after Zuhr, and her burial will take place at the Banani Military Graveyard, according to Shayrul Kabir Khan.
Mrs. Dilara Hafiz is survived by her husband, one son, one daughter, grandchildren, and numerous well-wishers.
