In Saltha, Faridpur, Md. Rakibul Hasan Jewel (34), a local Swecchasebok League leader, was arrested on Tuesday (March 17) morning. The police conducted a raid in Saltha Sadar Bazar and apprehended him.
Jewel was a wanted accused under cases related to Speedy Trial and Explosive Substances laws. He currently serves as the president of Saltha Upazila Swecchasebok League. He is the son of Abdul Wahab Matubber, president of Bhawal Union Awami League, and a resident of Bhawal Paschim Para village.
Saltha police officer-in-charge, Md. Babulur Rahman Khan, said:
“Rakibul Hasan Jewel, president of Saltha Upazila Swecchasebok League, was a wanted accused under a Speedy Trial and Explosive Substances case. Based on secret information, we conducted a raid in Saltha Sadar Bazar this morning and arrested him. He has been sent to the competent court.”
The arrest follows a court-issued warrant, and Jewel was promptly presented before the authorities for legal proceedings.
