As part of the Prime Minister’s ongoing commitment to a digital transformation, the government has launched a pilot project providing free public internet services at key high-traffic locations across the country.
The initiative aims to grant citizens free access to high-speed internet at various public gathering spots, including major railway stations and airports.
Technological Milestone: Starlink on Moving Trains

According to official data, high-speed internet infrastructure has already been completed at several strategic locations:
- Airports: Cox’s Bazar, Saidpur, and Rajshahi.
- Railway Stations: Dhaka Airport Railway Station and Cox’s Bazar Railway Station.
Expanding Connectivity on Rail Routes
The Starlink satellite connection is now operational on several major train routes departing from the capital. Passengers traveling on the following routes can now enjoy seamless satellite-based connectivity:
- Dhaka – Chattogram
