The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a new tournament for female cricketers, named the ‘BCB Women’s Cup’, scheduled to take place in Dhaka from 5 May to 14 May.
The competition will feature players from the latest Dhaka Women’s First Division Cricket League, with a total of eight teams participating, providing an opportunity for 112 players to showcase their talent.
Each participant will receive a match fee of 25,000 BDT for the tournament. In addition, awards will be given to the champion team, Player of the Match, and other outstanding performers, according to BCB.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Women’s Premier League (BPL), originally set to start in April, has been postponed. The new schedule begins on 10 July at Bogura’s Shaheed Chandu Stadium, which will also host the opening ceremony, and concludes on 21 July in Mirpur.
