Religious Affairs Minister Stresses Serving Hajj Pilgrims Like Parents

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaykobad emphasized that Hajj pilgrims should be served like parents, describing them as guests of Allah. Speaking on Sunday (February 22) via online platform at the inauguration of the Private Hajj Guides Training-2026 at the Hajj Office conference room in Ashkona, Dhaka, he urged Hajj guides to serve pilgrims with dedication, stating that pleasing the pilgrims will earn Allah’s highest reward.

The minister also called for strict attention and avoidance of negligence in Hajj management. He highlighted that the BNP secured a landslide victory in the 13th National Parliament elections and formed the government, stressing that under this administration, the 2026 Hajj management must be smooth, efficient, and flawless.

To motivate excellence among Hajj guides, he announced that the top three guides providing the best service to pilgrims, regardless of being government or private, will be personally rewarded:

  • First prize: 5 lakh BDT
  • Second prize: 3 lakh BDT
  • Third prize: 2 lakh BDT

Present at the event were Ayatul Islam, Additional Secretary of Hajj Sub-division, Dr. Manjurul Haq, Joint Secretary, Md. Lokman Hossain, Director (Hajj); and Farid Ahmad Majumdar, Secretary of HABER.
