Nahid Islam to be Made Minister if 11-Party Alliance Wins: Jamaat Ameer

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has announced that Nahid Islam will be appointed as a minister if the 11-party alliance secures victory in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.

The announcement was made on Sunday (February 8) during an election rally held by the 11-party alliance at DIT Project playground in Badda, supporting Nahid Islam, the Convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and the alliance’s candidate for the Dhaka-11 constituency.

Handing the Reins to the Youth

Addressing the crowd, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman emphasized the importance of youth leadership in the nation’s future.

“Young friends, prepare yourselves to take responsibility for Bangladesh. We have nominated Nahid Islam here. In the future, we want to place the likes of Nahid Islam in the cockpit as pilots of the aircraft named Bangladesh, while we sit in the back as passengers. We believe they will lead the country to its rightful destination,” the Jamaat Ameer stated.

A Vision for a Corruption-Free Nation

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman highlighted that the talent and hard work of the Bangladeshi people have often been undermined by a lack of honest leadership in the past. He criticized former leaders for failing to remain free from corruption and lacking a sense of accountability toward the country.

“We hope the youth will not disappoint us. They will lead us forward,” he added, stressing that no one can hinder the development of Bangladesh if the leadership is sincere.

Local Roots and Proven Leadership

Endorsing Nahid Islam’s candidacy for the Badda-based constituency, the Ameer noted that the candidate is a son of the soil.

“Nahid Islam was born and raised here. You know him better than I do. If we can form the government, you will see Nahid Islam as a minister, Insha’Allah,” he declared.

The rally was also addressed by other top leaders of the 11-party alliance, including Maulana Mamunul Haque. The event saw a massive turnout of supporters ahead of the national polls scheduled for February 12, 2026.
