Putin Disturbed by Risk of World War III Amid Rising Tensions

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he was disturbed when asked whether the world was heading towards World War III, speaking at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg on Friday.

Vladimir Putin said that there were many potentials for conflict in the world and that conflict was increasing.

Referring to Russia’s own war in Ukraine and the conflict between Israel and Iran, the Russian president said he was concerned about developments surrounding Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“This is worrying. I say this without any irony or humor. Of course, there is a lot of potential for conflict and it is growing. These events are happening before our eyes and they are directly affecting us,” Putin said.

The Russian president said, “In this situation, it is not enough to just keep a close eye on the events, but it is necessary to find a solution. It is important to find a peaceful solution by all possible means.”
