Zonayed Saki, Chief Coordinator of the Ganosamhati Andolon, has emphasized the importance of maintaining a stable political environment amidst ongoing national developments.
In a verified Facebook post on Friday (June 13), Saki stated that his party has long called upon the interim government to make decisions on critical matters—such as justice, reforms, and elections—through inclusive dialogue with all stakeholders.
Commenting on recent political discussions, including Friday’s meeting in London between Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Saki remarked, “We welcome this dialogue initiative. The meeting, which discussed the possibility of advancing the election timeline and making meaningful progress on justice and reform, is a positive development in our view.”
Referring to Dr. Yunus’s pre-Eid statement, Saki added that Ganosamhati Andolon had already expressed concerns over the feasibility of holding national elections in early April, given the political realities and unresolved issues.
He expressed hope that with this meeting, not only the election timeline but also reform agendas would now receive serious attention. “We believe this creates an opportunity to build national consensus on key reforms through discussion with political parties,” he said.
Saki called on the interim administration to intensify consultations with stakeholders to expedite the justice process and facilitate reform efforts. He also urged for participatory decision-making, particularly on matters of economic policy, state affairs, and the ongoing crises affecting public life. According to him, such engagement is vital to preserving stability in the country.
