NCP Observes Eid with Families of July Martyrs in Nationwide Outreach

Images of NCP leaders & Activists celebrating Eid with Martyrs's Family

The seeds of the historic July Uprising were sown around last year’s Eid-ul-Azha, sparked by the student-led movement against the quota system. Over 1,800 brave citizens lost their lives during the uprising. Many of them may have celebrated Eid with their families just a year ago. But this year, their families observe Eid in silence—grappling with loss, grief, and uncertainty.

Mothers who lost their children remain emotionally paralyzed. Some families, having lost their sole breadwinner, face not only sorrow but financial insecurity as well.

In a show of remembrance and moral duty, the National Citizens’ Party (NCP)—the political platform born out of the leadership of the uprising—has stood beside these families during both Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha. While many political actors moved on, NCP organizers took it upon themselves to honor the martyrs.

During Eid-ul-Fitr, NCP leaders visited graves across the country and personally met with the families, offering condolences and solidarity. This Eid-ul-Azha, they brought sacrificial meat and Eid gifts to homes in cities and rural areas alike—from Dhaka to distant districts.

On social media, images of grieving mothers receiving Eid offerings from the comrades of their martyred sons and daughters resonated deeply with viewers. In many posts, family members expressed quiet gratitude that, even amid widespread celebration, it was the fellow fighters of their lost children who came to remember them.

NCP’s actions during both Eids make one thing clear: the July Uprising gave the nation hope, and those who gave their lives for that hope will not be forgotten. With their memory in its heart, NCP appears committed to building the Bangladesh of tomorrow.
