National Citizen Party (NCP) South Region Chief Organizer and Member of Parliament Hasnat Abdullah has mocked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ongoing protests in New Delhi, claiming that the situation has become so unstable that Modi may also be forced to flee the country.
Speaking at a street rally in Mongla, Bagerhat, on Wednesday night as part of the NCP’s “July Awakening to Build the Nation” campaign, Hasnat also remarked that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina could return to Bangladesh “with Modi.”
“We have seen that wherever Sheikh Hasina goes, the situation in that country becomes unstable. The situation in India has now reached such a point that if Sheikh Hasina returns to Bangladesh, it seems she may have to bring Modi with her. Things have become so difficult in India that Modi himself may have to flee.”

Addressing the rally as the chief guest, Hasnat alleged that enforced disappearances similar to those during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure have continued in Mongla even after Tarique Rahman assumed office, describing the incidents as “a dark chapter” in the country’s history.
He also claimed that although a commission on enforced disappearances had been proposed, the political party that he said suffered the most repression is now opposing the commission.
According to Hasnat, the “Hasina-era structure” still remains in place, despite the change in government.
Following the rally, he officially introduced Mollah Rahmatullah, the NCP’s South Region Joint Chief Organizer, as the party’s mayoral candidate for the upcoming Mongla Port Municipality election.
Senior leaders and local activists of the National Citizen Party (NCP) were also present at the event.
