Jubo Dal Activist Dies After Being Shot in Raozan

A Jubo Dal activist, Nasir Uddin (45), has died after being shot by armed assailants in Raozan, Chattogram. He was declared dead at around 12:00 am on Sunday night after being taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

The shooting took place earlier at approximately 10:00 pm in the Ishaanbhatta Haat area under Kadalpur Union, where a group of armed attackers opened indiscriminate fire targeting Nasir.

According to police and local sources, Nasir sustained multiple bullet wounds during the attack. Local residents rushed him to the hospital in critical condition, but doctors were unable to save him. Witnesses reported that several spent bullet shells were found at the scene, indicating heavy gunfire.

Nasir was a resident of South Shamsher Nagar village in Ward No. 6 of Kadalpur Union and the son of Dudu Mia. Party sources confirmed that he was involved in Jubo Dal politics, the youth wing of the BNP.

However, police said that five cases were filed against him, including allegations related to criminal activities.

Saber Sultan, Vice President of Chattogram North District Jubo Dal, said:
Nasir was a Jubo Dal activist. He was brutally shot by terrorists.
Although he was taken to the hospital, he could not be saved.
We demand the arrest of those involved and immediate steps to stop such violence in Raozan.

Raozan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sazedul Islam confirmed the death, stating:
He died after being taken to the hospital.
We are working to identify and arrest those responsible.
There are also allegations of his involvement in criminal activities, and five cases were filed against him.

The area has recently witnessed a rise in gun violence, with several fatal incidents reported in recent weeks. Most of the victims are reportedly linked to BNP politics.

In a similar incident earlier, Kawsaruzzaman (36), a BNP supporter who had recently returned from abroad, was shot dead from behind in Alikhil village under Ward No. 9 of the Raozan municipality.
