Due to supply disruptions, most petrol pumps in Dhaka are facing a serious fuel shortage, with many stations temporarily closing. On Monday (March 23), drivers were seen moving from pump to pump in search of fuel, while a few stations with limited supplies quickly developed long queues.
Petrol pump owners explained that the shortage is temporary, caused by two days of halted depot supply during the Eid holidays, and expected fuel availability to return by evening.
Earlier, the Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners Association warned on Facebook that anytime, all petrol stations in the country could shut down due to insecurity and fuel scarcity, raising public concern.
