A total of 189 Bangladeshi nationals, stranded in Dubai due to suspended flights amid ongoing Middle East tensions, returned home on a special flight Thursday morning. The flight, operated by US-Bangla Airlines, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:07 am.
US-Bangla Airlines has been operating two special flights on the Dhaka–Dubai–Dhaka route to bring stranded Bangladeshis back safely.
According to the airline, the first special flight departed from Dhaka at 7:20 pm on Wednesday evening towards Dubai and returned from Dubai at 12:20 am local time. The second special flight left Dhaka at 5:15 pm on Thursday, returning from Dubai at 10:00 pm local time.
“Considering the current situation in the Middle East, US-Bangla Airlines has coordinated with Emirates, Air India, and other carriers to operate special flights. Priority was given to passengers whose visas had expired or were about to expire,” the airline said in a press release.
The operation underscores efforts to ensure the safety and timely return of Bangladeshi expatriates affected by regional instability.
