Mohammad Shishir Monir, a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court and leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, has confirmed that the party’s elected Members of Parliament will not accept tax-free vehicles or government loans. He shared the announcement on his verified Facebook post on February 16, stating that their MPs will refrain from receiving official benefits as previously declared.
Earlier, on November 7, 2025, at a rally in Sylhet, Dr Amir Shafiqul Rahman, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, had announced that no party member elected as an MP would take government loans or tax-free vehicles. The party described this decision as a matter of ethics and public interest.
