Dr. Nasimul Gani, currently serving as Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as the Cabinet Secretary. The announcement was made on Monday (February 16) through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration.
The notification, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Mohammad Mamun Shiblee, states that Dr Gani has been given a contractual appointment as Cabinet Secretary, effective immediately, in the public interest.
A 1982 batch officer of the Administration Cadre of BCS, Dr Gani was appointed as Special Officer-in-Charge at the Ministry of Public Administration in 2009. After four years on On-Secondment-Detachment (OSD), he retired from service in 2013.
Following the July popular uprising, the interim government reappointed him on a contractual basis at the rank of senior secretary in the Public Administration Division of the President’s Office.
