Bangladeshi Passport Moves Up! Visa-Free Access to 39 Countries, Rises 3 Spots Globally

Bangladesh’s passport is finally catching a bit of global respect. According to the latest Henley Passport Index, the country has climbed three spots in the global passport power ranking—moving from 97th to 94th. The Henley Passport Index ranks passports based on visa-free access, reflecting how easily citizens can travel internationally. Topping the list solo this year is Singapore, whose passport grants visa-free entry to 193 countries. Last year, six countries shared the top spot.

Following Singapore, Japan and South Korea share second place with visa-free access to 190 countries each. The third rank is held by seven countries, including France, Germany, and Italy, which offer entry to 189 destinations without a visa.

Other notable rankings: Austria, Belgium, and Sweden sit fourth; Greece and New Zealand hold fifth; the UK is sixth; Australia and Poland are seventh; Canada and the UAE rank eighth; Croatia and Slovakia are ninth; while Iceland, Lithuania, and the USA complete the top ten.

The index evaluates 199 passports across 227 destinations worldwide, providing a clear snapshot of global mobility power.

Bangladesh’s rise signals progress, though much ground remains to cover for greater global travel freedom.
