Fire Breaks Out on Dhaka-Bound Chattala Express in Sitakunda

A devastating fire broke out on the Dhaka-bound Chattala Express train in the Faujdarhat area of Sitakunda, Chattogram, early Thursday morning. The incident occurred at around 5:45 AM.

According to officials, the fire originated in the power car of the train while it was passing through Faujdarhat. Within moments, the flames spread to a nearby air-conditioned (AC) coach, creating panic among passengers.

Upon receiving the news, two units from Kumira Fire Station rushed to the scene and began rescue operations. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control after sustained efforts, preventing any major casualties or significant damage.

A control room official of Chattogram Fire Service confirmed that the situation is now under control, and efforts are ongoing to recover the damaged coach.

However, the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be immediately determined by the authorities.
