There was a random shooting incident in the central Shaheed Minar area of the capital. It is also reported that a person was stabbed with a sharp weapon.
The incident took place around 9:30 pm on Sunday (March 15). Police recovered two bullet shells from the scene.
It is learned that the man was seriously injured in the indiscriminate firing and was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Meanwhile, passersby detained one of the men involved in the incident and handed him over to the police.
This information was confirmed by the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Md. Mazharul Islam.
He said that 4 rounds were fired at a person at the Central Shaheed Minar. The person was injured in this. He was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. One person has been arrested in this incident. However, the identities of the two people have not been found yet.
According to eyewitnesses, the injured person was shot and beaten. He was taken to the emergency department of DMCH in a serious condition.
