Housewife Votes Early in Khulna-2 Carrying Her Three-Month-Old Daughter

A festive atmosphere was observed at polling centres across Khulna, with voters seen arriving from early morning on Thursday.

At the Talimul Millat Madrasa centre in Sonadanga under Khulna-2 constituency, housewife Tamanna Begum arrived early to cast her vote, carrying her three-month-old daughter, Amina, in her arms. Holding her baby, she entered the voting booth and exercised her franchise. At the same time, her husband cast his vote in another booth at the same centre, accompanied by their two young children.

Tamanna Begum said the election has created a festive mood in neighbourhoods. Fearing larger crowds later in the day, she prepared her children early and came to the centre in the morning. She expressed satisfaction at being able to vote without any complications, adding that the environment felt joyful, almost like an Eid celebration.

According to centre officials, Talimul Millat Madrasa polling station has a total of 1,981 registered voters. In the first hour of voting, 218 ballots were cast.
