Ballots Begin Reaching Centres Ahead of 13th National Election and Referendum

Ballot papers have started reaching polling centers across the country for the 13th National Parliament election and referendum. By Wednesday night (February 11), ballots, boxes, and other necessary election materials will arrive at centres outside Dhaka, while major cities, including Dhaka, will receive them by this evening.

Voting will take place tomorrow, February 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This election will feature two ballots: a white ballot for parliamentary candidates and a pink ballot for the referendum.

The Election Commission has deployed nearly 958,000 law enforcement personnel nationwide for security. Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam confirmed that security has been arranged at central, mobile, and striking force levels to ensure smooth polling.

Authorities identified 8,770 polling centres as highly vulnerable and another 16,000 as moderately vulnerable, though officials emphasized that no force can disrupt the election process.
