Nahid Islam, the Convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP), stated today that a major political party has become panicked after witnessing the massive public support for the 10-party alliance ahead of the upcoming national elections. He alleged that this party is now actively spreading misinformation to confuse the general public.
Nahid Islam made these remarks on Friday morning (January 23) while addressing a rally at Bashtola in the Vatara area of the capital. The rally was organized prior to a mass procession as part of his election campaign for the Dhaka-11 constituency.
Stand Against Extortion
Emphasizing his commitment to law and order, Nahid Islam declared that there would be no room for extortionists in the upcoming polls.
“Extortionists must be resisted in the next election,” he said. “There will be no place for any ‘Chandabaj’ (extortionist) in the Dhaka-11 seat.”
Vigilance at Polling Centers
The NCP leader expressed a firm stance on protecting the sanctity of the vote, asserting that his supporters would remain steadfast at every polling station.
“We will guard every polling center and return home only after snatching victory. We did not retreat even when faced with bullets, and we will not retreat from the centers,” Nahid Islam told the gathering of supporters.
Development and Reform
Highlighting the local grievances of the Dhaka-11 constituency, Nahid Islam noted that the area is currently plagued by various issues, including severe traffic congestion and systemic extortion. He promised that if the 10-party alliance forms the government, they would prioritize liberating the area from these problems.
“Dhaka-11 is burdened with numerous issues. We will solve the traffic problems and make this area extortion-free once we are in power,” he added.
