Bangladesh-Made Walton Motherboards to Be Used in US Security Devices

In a significant milestone for Bangladesh’s burgeoning high-tech manufacturing sector, local industrial giant Walton has officially launched the export of its world-class Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), or motherboards, to the United States.

The inaugural shipment was flagged off on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur. The event was formally inaugurated by the Minister of Posts, telecommunications, and Information Technology and Science and Technology, Faqir Mahbub Anam, alongside the Prime Minister’s ICT Adviser, Rehan Asif Asad.

Global Expansion and Strategic Partnership

The high-tech PCBAs manufactured by Walton will be integrated into sophisticated security devices in the United States, specifically for advanced gunshot detection and emergency response systems. These products are being imported by Safepro Technologies Inc., a Wisconsin-based technology firm renowned for providing life-saving security solutions for educational institutions and public facilities across the U.S.

This partnership underscores Bangladesh’s growing capability to contribute to the global electronics supply chain. With this latest development, Walton continues to strengthen its international footprint, now exporting technology products to over 55 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

Government Commitment to Local Industry

During the event, Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam praised Walton for its contribution to national pride and industrial development.

“Walton is truly a wonder. By building such a vast and sophisticated industrial complex, they have proven that Bangladesh is fully capable of producing world-class technology products,” the Minister stated. He further emphasized the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting local manufacturers, noting that the proposed budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year includes initiatives to provide greater tax incentives and foster a more competitive environment for domestic industries.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Prior to the inauguration, the Minister and the Prime Minister’s ICT Adviser toured Walton’s extensive manufacturing facilities. The delegation visited several key units, including:

  • Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Motherboard production
  • Television panel clean rooms

  • Mould and die facilities

The officials were briefed on Walton’s integrated approach, which combines intensive research and innovation (R&I) with stringent quality control measures.
