EC Introduces Four Methods, Including App, to Help Voters Access Poll Information

The Election Commission (EC) has introduced four methods, including a mobile application titled Smart Election Management BD, to help voters access information ahead of the 13th National Parliament election and referendum scheduled for February 12.

Through the app, voters can use their National Identity Card (NID) number to check their polling centre name, number, and location from home.

EC Public Relations Director Md. Ruhul Amin Mallik said the app is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. “Voters can easily view detailed information about their polling centre, including its location, image, distance, and map directions,” he said.

He added that the app also provides information about registered political parties, candidates’ affidavits, various election-related updates, and election results.

The EC said it has introduced four methods this year for voters to check their polling centre and voter number:

Method 1: Smart Election Management BD App
After opening the app, users need to select “13th National Parliament Election” from the dashboard. By clicking on “Find Polling Centre” and entering their NID number and date of birth, voters can access their voter number, serial number, polling centre name, and address.

Method 2: Hotline 105
Voters from anywhere in the country can call hotline number 105 to obtain their voter number and polling centre details. By pressing 9 after connecting, they can speak to an operator. Callers must provide their NID number and date of birth. The hotline service will remain available daily from 6:00 am to 12:00 midnight.

Method 3: SMS to 105
Voters can send an SMS by typing “PC NID” from their mobile phone and sending it to 105. In return, they will receive a message containing their voter number and polling centre information.

Method 4: EC Website (ecs.gov.bd)
Voters can also visit the Election Commission’s official website (ecs.gov.bd) through any browser on a laptop, desktop, or mobile device. By clicking on the “Polling Centre” menu, users can search for their polling centre in two ways.

First, they can select the constituency and upazila/thana to view a list of polling centres. Second, they can enter their NID number and date of birth to retrieve their voter number and polling centre details.

The website also offers direct integration with Google Maps, allowing voters to view the exact location of their polling centre, along with directions and distance information.
