APBN will receive heavy weapons, police will not have lethal weapons: Home Affairs Advisor

Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that although the field police have weapons like rifles, they will not have heavy weapons.
He said specialized units like the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) will have heavy weapons.
The Home Minister visited the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) headquarters in the capital at 11 am on Saturday (June 14). He then spoke to reporters before visiting the RAB-1 office.

The Home Affairs Advisor said that the government is working on the overall development of law enforcement agencies, including APBN, police stations and other agencies.
Claiming that the law and order situation has improved considerably in the past 11 months of the interim government, the Home Affairs Advisor said that apart from one or two minor incidents, the countrymen celebrated Eid peacefully this year.
