Biman Bangladesh Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Dhaka After Engine Trouble
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight bound for Singapore was forced to make an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday morning after the pilot detected an engine malfunction shortly after takeoff.
Flight BG-584, a Boeing 737-800, took off from Dhaka at 8:38 AM, but at around 2,500 feet, the pilot identified a problem with the engine and decided to return.
The plane landed safely at 8:59 AM and was parked at gate B-14. All 154 passengers and 7 crew members on board were unharmed, according to airport authorities.
Following the landing, airport safety teams inspected the runway but found no signs of bird strikes or foreign object damage. The aircraft has been grounded for technical inspection, and further decisions will be made after a complete assessment.
