Asif Nazrul, advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, has made a scathing statement on his verified Facebook page, targeting supporters of Sheikh Hasina following a BBC investigative report on the August 5th police killings in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area.
Sharing a video link to the BBC’s investigative report, Asif Nazrul wrote: “If, after watching this video, you still have support or sympathy for Sheikh Hasina, then understand that you yourself are an inhumane person.”
He posted this comment on his verified page on Wednesday night, July 9.
Asif Nazrul further added, “Inshallah, this barbaric murderer will receive due punishment in this world and the hereafter!”
It is noteworthy that a BBC Eye investigation revealed that at least 52 people were killed in indiscriminate police firing on August 5, 2024, in Jatrabari, one of Dhaka’s busiest areas. The incident is considered one of the most horrific instances of police violence in Bangladesh’s history.
