Midnight Clash Over Tea with Torches, 10 Injured

A violent clash erupted between two groups in Bhanga Upazila of Faridpur late Thursday night, leaving 10 people injured. The victims were rescued and admitted to a local hospital for treatment. The incident took place in Gopinathpur village of Hamirdi Union in Bhanga during the early hours of March 19.

The conflict stems from a long-standing rivalry between Ismail Munsi and Chunnu Mia over dominance in the village. On Thursday night, a dispute broke out between Chunnu Mia’s son Ibrahim and Ismail Munsi’s son Fuad over having tea.

Following the argument, both sides engaged in a violent clash armed with makeshift weapons and torches in the middle of the night. Locals intervened to control the situation.

Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga Police Station, Md. Mizanur Rahman, said he was not aware of the clash. However, villagers claimed that although they called the police, officers did not arrive at the scene.

No further casualties have been reported, and authorities are monitoring the situation to prevent any further violence.
