China has unveiled a mosquito-sized drone specifically engineered for covert military operations and espionage, sparking international concern over its potential misuse.
Developed by scientists at the National University of Defense Technology in Hunan province, the miniature drone closely resembles a real mosquito. It features two leaf-like wings, a sleek black vertical body, and three hair-thin legs, designed to mimic the appearance and flight of the blood-sucking insect.
The drone’s tiny size and lifelike movements allow it to blend easily into natural environments, making it ideal for stealth missions. However, security analysts are raising alarms over the risks such technology poses if it falls into the wrong hands.
As microscopic warfare enters a new chapter, the unveiling of this mosquito-sized drone marks a major step in the evolution of surveillance and military espionage.
