DU VC Warns: Will Resign and Expose if DUCSU Election is Obstructed

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan has warned that if any attempt is made to obstruct the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election, he will step down and publicly disclose those responsible.

Speaking at a discussion marking Dhaka University Black Day on Saturday (23 August), the VC admitted that holding DUCSU polls is “challenging under any circumstance,” but emphasized that so far the behavior of student organizations has been “encouraging.”

“The entire nation is watching the DUCSU election. We are trying to organize it in a fair environment, following the guidance of the commission and after consulting all stakeholders,” he said.

Dr. Khan reminded that Dhaka University, as a national institution, has historically resisted injustice. He urged all to learn from history and remain vocal against wrongdoing.

Calling for collective efforts, he appealed to all concerned, including the armed forces, to work together to ensure a peaceful and credible DUCSU election.
