Dr. Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, has been assigned to chair the first session of the 13th National Parliament. He received the support of fellow MPs during Thursday’s (12 March) opening session.
After the announcement of his name, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed the party’s full backing. The proposal was also supported by the opposition deputy leader Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, ensuring bipartisan agreement.
Under Dr. Mosharraf Hossain’s leadership, the parliament will proceed with the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
