Gas Cylinder Explosion in Cumilla Leaves Four Family Members Burned

Cumilla, February 24 – A gas cylinder explosion caused by a leakage in Daudkandi, Cumilla, has left four members of the same family, including a woman and a child, seriously burned.

The victims were rescued in a critical condition at around 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday and taken to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute’s emergency department.

The injured include:

  • Monowara (60) – 2% burns
  • Zil Haq (37) – 54% burns
  • Umme Humayra (30) – 65% burns
  • Huram (2) – 6% burns

Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman, Resident Surgeon at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, confirmed the incident to the media, stating that Zil Haq and Umme Humayra are in critical condition due to the severity of their burns.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the gas cylinder leak that triggered the explosion.
