Meghmallar Basu, the president of the Dhaka University (DU) unit of the Bangladesh Students’ Union, has reportedly attempted suicide. He was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in a critical condition on Friday afternoon.
The news was confirmed by Jabir Ahmed Jubel, General Secretary of Revolutionary Student Unity (Biplobi Chhatra Moitree). Speaking to the media, Jabir Ahmed Jubel stated that the student leader attempted to take his own life and was subsequently admitted to the hospital for emergency treatment.
