The newly formed Iranian Defense Council has issued a stern warning that it may launch “preemptive strikes” against its enemies, sparking fresh concerns of an escalating conflict in the Middle East.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Council declared that any attempt to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs or incite instability would meet a “crushing response.” Crucially, the body emphasized that Iran would no longer limit itself to retaliatory actions after being attacked.
