he Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yusuf Ramadan, has confirmed that several Palestinian female students’ visas were cancelled following a request from the Palestinian side to the interim government.
Speaking at a press conference at the Palestinian Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday, Ambassador Ramadan stated that Palestinian students will no longer pursue studies at universities funded or affiliated with Israel and its allies.
“Many universities operate with Israeli and American funding. Israel has some involvement in all these institutions. Therefore, we have informed the Bangladesh government that our girls will no longer study at such universities. Our daughters are not for sale,” he said.
Regarding the cancellation of visas for some female students, Ambassador Ramadan cited the example of the Asian University for Women, whose design involved Israeli nationals. He added that if Palestinian students are to pursue higher education in Bangladesh, it must be at institutions completely free from Israeli affiliations.
