HSC Exams Not Postponed Despite National Tragedy: Students and Parents Express Outrage

Even after the devastating Bangladesh Air Force jet crash at Milestone School and College that shocked the entire nation, the Ministry of Education has decided not to postpone tomorrow’s scheduled HSC examinations (July 22). The decision has sparked widespread anger and frustration among students, parents, and the general public.

While the government has declared July 22 as a National Mourning Day, with flags to be flown at half-mast and various state-level mourning activities planned, public examinations will proceed as usual.

Exams scheduled for tomorrow include Chemistry (Theoretical) 2nd Paper, Islamic History and Culture 2nd Paper, History 2nd Paper, Economics 2nd Paper, Home Management and Family Life 2nd Paper, and Production Management and Marketing 2nd Paper.

Many Milestone College students, directly affected by the tragedy, are supposed to sit for these exams. Families of injured students, survivors, and even their classmates are left traumatized, unable to mentally prepare for tomorrow’s exams.

Students and guardians have criticized the government’s decision as “insensitive and inhumane.” Thousands of posts, comments, and stories flooded Facebook today, with many students questioning the logic and humanity behind the Ministry of Education’s decision.
